FRIENDS OF THE MADRID BALLBARK is an organization of baseball fans that recognizes the historic value of the Madrid Ballpark and its place in the history of America's favorite National pastime. Our purpose is to promote, restore and renovate the ballpark as a functioning community asset for the town of Madrid and the community at large. Our specific purpose is to: • Work with the Madrid Landowners and the County of Santa Fe to return the baseball park to a functioning venue for sports and cultural events. • Support the town’s efforts to upgrade the parks infrastructure as a public facility including a children’s playground and a community park. • Provide assistance for the future maintenance of the ball field, grandstands, park and playground. • Support community sporting events for adults and children. • Work to ensure that the story of the Madrid Baseball Park’s fascinating and important past becomes a recognized part of American baseball’s rich history.

Friends of the Madrid Ballpark is a New Mexico non-profit 501(c)3 Organization.  


The Board


Tracy Ragan, Chairperson

Tracy has extensive background and experience in the operations and management of both for profit and non-profit organizations. In 1995 she co-founded OpenMake Software, a leading software vendor that specializes in software development tools where she has served in both a CEO and COO capacity. Tracy also had the privilege of serving as a founding Board Member to the Eclipse Foundation, an open source organization spearheaded by IBM. She is very active in her community and has served on the boards of the Madrid Landowners Association and the Madrid Cultural Projects. Tracy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA


Steve Taylor- Board Member


By trade, Steve Taylor is software developer who serves as the Chief Technology Officer of OpenMake Software. In his spare time, Steve also serves as Assistant Fire Chief to the Madrid Volunteer Fire Department. He commits his spare time towards improving the town of Madrid by serving in ways that he can make a difference. He is the project manager on all ballpark restoration efforts funded by Friends of the Madrid Ballpark. His background serves the needs of the reconstruction efforts in both project management and construction design. Mr. Taylor received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics from the University of Illinois-CU.s

Josh Gannon - Board Member

Josh is the heart of the 'Friends' board and is a true fan of the sport of softball. Josh has passed his love for the sport to all 3 of his children and continues to inspire young and old athletes in the Madrid/Cerrillos community. Josh serves as a Coach and Team Manager to the Madrid Miners, the men's slow pitch team to which the Madrid Ballpark serves as home. Josh graduated from the University of South Florida in 1997 with a degree in American Studies.  By trade Josh is a stone carver and owns Range West Gallery where he sells stone carvings and fountains.
